We are thrilled to announce that the CNRS concours 2025 has officially been launched, as published in today’s edition of the Journal officiel de la République française (JORF), the official journal of the French government, publishing laws, decrees, and other administrative acts. This marks the formal opening of the concours, in accordance with the French administrative procedure, and the online application portal is now live.

  • Opening Date: 11 December 2024 at 13:00 CET
  • Closing Date: 10 January 2025 at 13:00 CET

Candidates now have one month to submit their applications for the CNRS research positions. Please note that all applications must be completed and submitted online before the deadline.

Apart from the list published in the JORF, CNRS also publishes its own list of open positions on their recruitment website.

Important Information for Applicants to Section 17

As in previous years, applications to Section 17 will continue to be processed within the same section number. Note how each concours for each level has a different identifier: first comes the section number, in our case 17, and then the recruitement grade. For example, the CRCN positions are 17/02 (02 for CRCN), and the DR positions are 17/01 (01 for DR). You will need to pay attention to this when filling in the online application form. All other numbers, for example 17/03, correspond to preferred hiring posts, also called postes coloriés or postes fléchés. These are positions that are already earmarked for specific research projects or teams.

👉 For 2025, 5 open positions for a CRCN (chargé(e) de recherche de classe normale) and 1 poste fleché are available in Section 17.

The poste fleché is colored towards a laboratory in Section 2 (Théories physiques : méthodes, modèles et applications), which is part of the national institute for physics (INP, also called CNRS Physique).

A Reminder About the Recruitment Process

Until the arrêté d’ouverture des concours is published in the JORF, no official information can be communicated regarding the concours. With today’s publication, all details have now been confirmed, and the application portal will become fully operational on the opening date.
