Hang in There :)
You got this. We don’t know at what stage you are in the preparation for your CNRS application - but you got this. Whether you’re still writing your project, incorporating comments and suggestions from colleagues, formatting your CV or evaluating which productions and publications to put forward in the summary, we believe in you.
The CNRS concours deadline is this Friday at 13h CET, and then you can breathe. It’s a stressful process, so do not feel bad if you feel like you’re reaching your limit.
On the same note, it seems like we are getting a bit of a break this year when it comes to the CNAP concours - it has not even opened yet. The CNAP astronomy concours website currently reads:
“Mise à jour du 26 décembre: En raison du contexte politique national, la date d’ouverture du concours [astronome-adjoint] 2025 n’est pas encore déterminée. Nous vous tiendrons informés de toute évolution sur ce site web, ainsi que par l’intermédiaire de la liste de diffusion de la SF2A.”
Which effectively translates to:
December 26 update: Due to the national political context, the opening date of the 2025 concours [for the astronome-adjoint positions] has not yet been determined. We will keep you informed of any developments on this website, as well as via the SF2A mailing list.
So at least we don’t have to juggle two applications at the same time this time around. What a concept 🙃
In any case, we encourage you to plan something fun for the coming weekend, when all your CNRS docs are submitted - a night out with your friends, or a massage maybe? Whatever it is, you deserve it.
Hang in there.
