(What) Time to Shine for CNRS

The list of candidates auditioning for the Chargé de Recherche (CR) position at CNRS in 2025 has been announced (see this blog post) - congratulations if you made the cut! The next step is waiting to find out when exactly is your turn to present.

When and Where?

We already know that auditions for the positions as will take place from March 30 to April 1, 2025, but the precise schedule wasn’t immediately available. The detailed audition schedule is posted on the astronomy section website a few days after the candidate list is released. The website of the astro section dedicated to the concours is:

The auditions will be in person at the Paris Observatory (entrance at 77 Avenue Denfert-Rochereau) in the rooms Salle du Conseil and Salle Danjon. Unlike the auditions for Directeurs de Recherche, where the jury splits into subgroups, the CR auditions are conducted with the entire jury present (jury plénier).

If you’re interviewing remotely, the Zoom link will be sent to you by the Service Recrutement et Intégration, but only after you’ve formally requested a remote audition.

Practical Details

🔹 Show up early: You’re required to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time.

🔹 Presentation duration: The audition lasts 25 minutes, with the first 12 minutes dedicated to your presentation. Candidates for the poste fléchée also have 30 minutes in total, but with 15 minutes for the presentation.

🔹 Presentation submission: You must send your presentation file by 18:00 the day before your audition to:

💾 File format: PDF (≤3.5 MB)

📄 Naming format: lastname_firstname.pdf

This is the file that will be used during your audition, so double-check everything before sending it!
