🎺 And here we go… the results are in! 🎺 The list of candidates invited to audition for the 2026 CNRS concours has just been published.

As every year, the astronomy and astrophysics section circulated the names shortly after the Jury d’Admissibilité sur Dossier (JAD) via the SF2A mailing list and on the Section 19 website. The consolidated and fully official lists for all sections will appear on the CNRS researcher concours website once every section has completed its JAD. The Section 19 results are also relayed on the SNCS researchers’ union website.

Following a highly selective first screening, 44 candidates have been declared admissible and will travel to Paris later this year to defend their application for the five positions open in the concours 19/02.

The list is available here:

In addition, 6 applicants have been shortlisted for the targeted position (poste fléché) under concours 19/03.

A huge congratulations to everyone who cleared this first and very competitive step. Making it to the audition stage is already a significant achievement, especially considering the ridiculously high application number of 237, compared to last year’s 189 - and with only 5 positions available either year.

The next phase is the oral examination in Paris — a completely different exercise that requires careful preparation. 🚀

We will soon publish a detailed post sharing practical advice on how to approach the audition, structure your presentation, and anticipate questions from the jury. Stay tuned!
